Tips for Well-Being based off of readings, research, and random thought.

Tip #1: Name your feelings

Jill Sylvester, LMHC and author of the book Trust Your Intuition shares with readers that when we give our feelings a voice, we can get to the root emotion, “not just the word, but the imprint, the energy that goes along with the feeling”. Oftentimes feelings translate into physical energy. When we experience positive emotions we may become activated–feeling lifted, energized, awake or warm. Similarly, when we experience negative emotions, we may heavy, fatigued, or blocked. By naming our feelings, Sylvester states “you release that previously blocked energy, which holds you back form peace, lightness, and moving forward”.

Ask yourself:

What am I feeling right now?

Is there tightness anywhere in my body?

How awake do I feel?

Is there a particular situation or situations attributing to these feelings?

How do I feel as a result of this exploration?

Open and curious? Resistant?

Take note.
